The bicarbonate cartridge is the most convenient, safe and effective way to introduce the base part of Haemodialysis in patients. Until now, the bicarbonate cartridge available in the market was of single use which was too expensive to be used in most hospitals. In response to this problem, our team of engineers created a refillable Bicarbonate cartridge. The cartridge prepares the base part of Haemodialysis online, which eliminates the risk of bacterial contamination, eliminates human error associated with making the bicarbonate and also saves manpower needed to prepare the solution. All this at a price that is affordable for most centers and hospitals even in emerging countries.

Why we introduced Rena Multicart^® Refillable Bicarbonate Cartridge in the market?

Our research analysts conducted a survey of our product use in various hospitals and centers in India. We found that the base part of the Haemodialysis procedure was being converted from powder to liquid the night before and being used on patients in the morning. This is very problematic. It is imperative that the bicarbonate solution (made by mixing powder with R.O. water in place of use) is used within 6 hours of its preparation. If it is not, the bicarbonate gets converted to carbonate and the dialysis procedure partially loses its efficacy. This is both wasteful and dangerous. There is also increased risk of bacterial contamination if the prepared solution is not used within the prescribed time window.

Our Rena Multicart^® Bicarbonate cartridge eliminates this problem by converting the powder to liquid online so it is used instantly. This ensures that the patient receives an effective and safe dialysis treatment.
